Rule-targeted worksheets

Pick the bead rule your child needs and every problem on the sheet will use it. Choose how many rows and digits, print, done.

Free — no sign-up, prints with an answer key.

Most worksheet generators pick problems by shape: how many rows, how many digits. That is fine for general practice, but it is not what you want after a check has told you a child keeps losing the carry through ten. For that you need a sheet where the carry actually appears — not one where it might.

This generator forces it. Tick a rule and every problem is built so that rule fires, using the same engine that runs the practice inside the app, so paper and screen drill the identical thing. Each sheet prints its number: enter the same one again and you get the same paper, which is how you print one sheet for a whole class.

Which rules should the sheet practise?

Tick as many as you like. Every problem will use all of them.

Common questions

How is this different from the other worksheet generator?
That one picks problems by shape — how many rows, how many digits. This one picks by rule. Tick big friends and every problem on the sheet is built so a carry through ten actually happens, rather than merely being allowed to. After a check has told you a child keeps losing that carry, a sheet where it might not appear is the wrong homework.
Does every problem really use the rule I picked?
Yes, that is the whole point. The generator forces each selected rule to fire at least once in every problem and rejects any candidate that does not. If you tick several rules, every problem uses all of them. The only exception is a request that is arithmetically impossible at the chosen size, where the sheet falls back to an ordinary problem rather than printing nothing.
What is the sheet number for?
Reprinting. The problems are generated from that number, so entering the same one gives you the identical paper — which is how you print one sheet for a whole class, or reprint a lost copy that still matches the answer key. Press New sheet for a different number and a fresh set.
Do I get an answer key?
Yes, on a separate page at the end, on by default. It is a separate page so you can hand out the problems without handing out the answers, and keep the key yourself.
Which rules should I choose?
If you already know the weak spot, tick it. If you do not, take the free Bead Checkup first — it tests each bead rule one at a time and names the ones to practise, then links back here with exactly those ticked. Guessing wastes the sheet: practice on a rule a child already owns builds speed, not understanding.
