1. What we collect
We collect the information needed to run the program: a learner profile (display name, level, avatar choice), practice and lesson activity, and any messages you send us. Account-holders provide an email or phone number for sign-in and recovery.
2. How we use it
We use the information to deliver lessons, track progress, generate dashboards for parents and teachers, send service updates, and improve the product. We do not sell personal information, and we do not run third-party advertising profiles against learner activity.
3. Where it is stored
Data is stored on managed servers in a region appropriate to where the program is offered. Backups are encrypted in transit and at rest. Specific hosting regions and retention windows will be detailed once finalized with counsel.
4. Who can see it
Inside Kani Math, learner data is visible to the linked parent or guardian, the assigned teacher (when a center is involved), and the small number of staff who operate the platform. We share data with service providers only to the extent needed to run the service.
5. Children’s data
A core audience is school-age learners, so we minimize what is collected from accounts identified as children. Where local rules require parental consent (for example COPPA-aligned regions or GDPR-K), we ask the parent or guardian to grant it during onboarding.
6. Cookies and local storage
We use cookies and browser localStorage for sign-in sessions, language preference, and remembering your last lesson. We do not use cross-site tracking cookies. A cookie-preference UI will be added before launch in regions that require one.
7. Third-party services
We rely on a short list of vendors for hosting, email delivery, error monitoring, and (eventually) payment processing. Each vendor only receives the data it needs to perform its function. The full vendor list will be published here before launch.
8. Your rights
You can request a copy of the data tied to your account, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Parents and guardians can do the same on behalf of a child profile linked to their account. Requests are handled by a person, not an automated system.
9. Changes to this policy
We update this policy when the product changes or when we sign on a new vendor that handles personal data. Material changes will be flagged in-app or by email so you have a chance to review them before they take effect.
