Full answer key
  1. 56 + 66 + 98 − 85 − 46 = 89
  2. 45 − 37 + 18 + 90 + 88 = 204
  3. 93 + 66 + 74 + 10 + 48 = 291
  4. 11 + 97 + 67 + 71 + 39 = 285
  5. 73 + 91 + 23 − 63 + 61 = 185
  6. 83 + 53 − 84 + 15 − 34 = 33
  7. 62 + 61 + 24 − 68 + 16 = 95
  8. 31 + 35 + 55 + 29 − 94 = 56
  9. 40 + 71 + 81 + 87 + 16 = 295
  10. 85 + 56 − 80 + 86 − 52 = 95
  11. 78 + 12 + 53 + 35 − 65 = 113
  12. 51 + 43 + 26 − 34 + 25 = 111

About this drill

Screen practice and paper practice train slightly different things, and most learners need both. On paper there is no timer nudging the pace, no instant feedback, and no way to skip a hard problem — which makes it the better format for building patience and for the long, deliberate sessions that come before an examination.

Worksheets are also the practical answer for classrooms with limited devices, for homework that should not need a login, and for the twenty minutes in a car where a tablet is a bad idea. Every sheet here is generated from the same problem specification as the interactive drills, so paper work and screen work stay aligned.

How to practise it

  1. 1Choose digits, rows and operations to match the current level.
  2. 2Print the sheet without answers for the learner, with answers for whoever marks.
  3. 3Time the sheet as a whole rather than individual problems.
  4. 4Mark it immediately — feedback a day later teaches very little.

Questions

Are the worksheets really free?
Yes, and they need no account. Generate, print, use them in a classroom or at home, including for a paid class you teach.
Can I get an answer key?
Yes. The same sheet prints with or without answers, so the learner copy and the marking copy carry identical problems.
Will the same problems come back if I print twice?
Only if you keep the same settings and seed. Change the seed for a fresh sheet at the same difficulty — useful for re-tests where memorisation would flatter the score.
Do these work without an abacus?
Yes. They are ordinary arithmetic worksheets; the abacus is the recommended method, not a requirement for the paper.
